MyKU Web App UX/UI Redesign

MyKU UX/UI Redesign
for Interactive Design II, Spring 2017

Check out the documentation site here:

Project Description:
Redesign the UX and UI for the student-facing portion of MyKU. MyKU is the web application used by Kutztown University students to perform important tasks related to their education, including but not limited to, scheduling courses, paying tuition, receiving grades, requesting transcripts, personal information, and aid and scholarship information.
The process will follow all required aspects for a full UX/UI site redesign. The redesign will include research, information architecture documentation, wire framing (using UXPin), user testing, and creating working prototypes (using Invision).

For this project, I tried to simplify the entire site and process. Whereas the current MyKU site is filled with links, tabs, information, etc, my goal was to make tasks as straightforward as possible. Initially, I tried to condense tasks into a small number of nav options, but there ended up being an absurd amount of dropdown options. So using my research I discovered the most important and frequently performed tasks on MyKU. Using that information I created vertical nav with ten options that reflect all the necessary tasks of MyKU.

It was required to create a documentation site (http://www.kucdinteractive.com/acygan/myku/) chronicling our process. My documentation site can be found below, it includes process flows, research, user personas, wireframes, etc. For brevity's sake, I'll only include mobile and desktop mockups and my mobile Invision prototype (the desktop does not fit the screen).
Created for a course at Kutztown University, for educational purposes only.
